Now, more than ever, risk management and insurance are vital to the sustainability of the worldʼ s economies,
institutions and people, as resilience is being threatened. The heightened attention to topics of resilience and
sustainability is hardly surprising given the risky times we live in. In this era, the role of risk management and
insurance in both academic and practical fields drastically change. Especially, perspectives of rapid
developments of globalization and financial technology are very essential to consider resilience and
sustainability in the risk society.
Welcome Address
We are really honored to welcome APRIA members and participants to our Kansai University and very pleased to host you at the APRIA 2023 Conference. We shall endeavor to make this Conference a great success. The world continues its fight with COVID-19 and other challenges during this pandemic period, but are winning the fight with our intelligence and bravery. We wish many participants enjoy deep exchanges of knowledge with each other and spend productive time throught the Conference. Our main theme of the Conference is “Resilience and Sustainability in the Risk Society: A Role of Risk Management and Insurance Based on Globalization and Financial Technology.” Now, more than ever, risk management and insurance is vital to the sustainability of the worldʼs economies, institutions and people. The resilience is continuouly tested, however. The heightened attention to topics of resilience and sustainability is hardly surprising given the risky times we live in. In this era, the role of risk management and insurance in both academic and practical fields drastically changes. The perspectives of rapid developments of globalization and financial technology are very essential to preserve resilience and sustainability in the risk society.
The venue is the Senriyama Campus of Kansai University. Since its establishment in 1922, the Campus has developed as a hub for academic education based on the Universityʼs philosophy. Spanning around on the 350,000-square-meter Campus are classroom and research buildings for the various faculties, along with other facilities. The Campus is easily accessible from the city center andsurrounded by rich greenery spreading over the hills of Senriyama. We hope that all of you enjoy your stay at the Campus in Osaka, JAPAN.
